I originally got this title from an indie skate film called “Levelland.” In one of the opening scenes, two of the main characters are skating around town together, waxing philosophical about their lives, and talking about how they can “subvert the dominant paradigms.” In translation, they were talking about their anxieties in school and family life, as members of a society where they don’t quite fit, and how they use their hobbies and talents (skating, in this film) to get out, or leave behind, some of that anxiety.

In a nutshell, this is how I see myself as a writer. I have my own problems and anxieties, I see society for what it is: a giant oppressive paradigm, and I feel called to write about my own experiences in a way that hopefully sheds some light on things. Deeply cynical, somewhat sarcastic, and at times narcissistic (extremely), I try to avoid being the stereotypical angry blog-pundit in favor of taking a more critical and personal approach.

Blah. Blah. Blah. This is my blog.
